Hi, I’m Michelle Reber, CCP, MHA, CFMNP, and I’m so happy you’re here!
For as long as I can remember, my life has revolved around two things: helping others heal and caring for animals. As a lifelong pet lover and devoted animal parent, I know firsthand how much our furry companions mean to us. They’re not just pets—they’re family, and their health and happiness matter just as much as our own.
In addition to my work, I've been fostering dogs for years through Rescue Outreach, giving them the love and care they need until they find their forever homes. My husband, Chris, and I have six boys, and together, we love spending time outdoors. Our family enjoys hunting, fishing, and embracing the homesteading lifestyle on our land which we share with chickens, peacocks, and ducks. We've also adopted six rescue dogs- Dingo, Lola, Rocky, Scooner, Kenobi and Jack- who are not just pets but cherished members of our family. Every foster dog that comes through our home receives the same holistic care and treatment as our own animals, because every life deserves the best chance at health and happiness.
All About Me
My journey into functional and holistic medicine began in the world of human healthcare. With over 25 years of experience, I’ve worked as a Board-Certified Cardiovascular Perfusionist and Certified Functional Medicine and Nutrition Practitioner, specializing in cardiac surgery, congenital heart conditions, and critical care patients. But when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, I saw firsthand how traditional medicine often relies on pharmaceuticals that mask symptoms rather than address the root cause. That realization changed everything.
I became passionate about functional medicine, holistic healing, and bioenergetics, searching for alternative approaches to wellness that support the body’s natural ability to heal. And just as I began applying this knowledge to my own health, I realized—why not extend the same care to our pets?
Animals, just like humans, face a world full of toxins, nutritional deficiencies, stressors, and imbalances that can impact their health. I founded The Furry Detective to bridge the gap between science and holistic pet care, using bioenergetic testing, functional nutrition, and natural healing to uncover the hidden causes behind your pet’s symptoms. Outside of my work, I’m a devoted pet parent, family-oriented advocate for holistic health, and always eager to learn more about the evolving world of energy medicine and natural healing. I can’t wait to help you and your furry companions on the path to better health and vitality!

From singing to dairy cows as a little girl during milking at my grandparents’ farm to being competitive with horses as my childhood family hobby to being involved with 4-H as a youth and with my children. I agree with Michelle; they’re not just pets, they’re family, and their health and happiness matter just as much as our own.
