For as long as I can remember, my life has revolved around animals. From singing to dairy cows as a little girl during milking at my grandparents’ farm to being competitive with horses as my childhood family hobby to being involved with 4-H as a youth and with my children. I agree with Michelle; they’re not just pets, they’re family, and their health and happiness matter just as much as our own.
My Story
My main animal involvement in recent years has been helping my son with his small show pig business. I assist in farrowing, so help care for them from birth through the first couple months until most are sold for others to show. We keep a few each year to show and move into the breeding herd; I enjoy spoiling them throughout their life.
Beyond the pigs, I currently have a couple laying ducks and chickens, a horse, a dog, and a cat, and am connected with friends and family who have larger herds of beef cattle, dairy, goats, and horses. My husband, Brian, and I have one adult son and one adult daughter, and together, we love spending time outdoors, whether with the animals, hiking, or fishing/boat riding. My husband and I recently finished our goal of visiting all 50 states and are currently working on our goal of visiting all National Parks. We also enjoy watching rodeo and livestock events.
My journey into holistic health began after losing my dad to melanoma skin cancer at a young age. I’ve always had interest in health but chose an engineering path in college and career in manufacturing. I paired my engineering degree with a chemistry degree, with the possibility of going into cancer research in the back of mind. As a lifelong learner, I continued to pursue the holistic health path and in late 2023 purchased the Qest bioenergetic testing equipment and became certified. I see many parallels between my manufacturing career, so believe this is a pivot for me. For example, I spent a lot of time problem solving throughout my career, and as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt trained and mentored personnel through hundreds of projects. In 2025, I stepped away from full-time work as a manufacturing consultant to pursue my passion in holistic health. I hope to help personnel connect the dots towards improvements.
